Story :
Thracie was born into a Ravas tribe in the Golmore Jungle. Her birth was tough for herself and her mother. Her mother had a difficult pregnancy, and birthing Thracie only made her weaker. Thracie was also frail for a newborn.
After she was born, she was quickly taken to the Ravas healers who tried to keep her alive. The first few days were extremely difficult for her, but Thracie eventually stabilized. Sadly, her childhood was tainted by her birth disease. While every other Vieras of her age became tall and slender, Thracie stayed small and petite. They were strong and fast, and she would often stumble and run out of breath quickly.
Around 13, the Tribe gave her more tasks to do. She had to stay in the village which was kind of a relief for her, but that only made it more different. Over the years, Thracie had only gone about more traditional occupations: she was the one to clean and tidy up. Front and back, no one showed contempt for her, but also indifference. Of her generation, only one individual stood out to stay by her side. Ysera was the only one Thracie could consider as a friend.
The two Vieras spent a lot of time together, but Ysera was often taken by her own tasks : training, knowing the jungle, everything that Thracie couldn’t do. Yet she always came back to her, no matter the situation and most importantly, no matter what others thought of her.
Now age 25, it was time for Thracie to mother children to keep the Tribe alive. It was the year all the men came back to the village and Thracie slowly started to panic. For Ysera, this was normal, but for her friend, it was another story. She tried everything she could to help her, eventually Thracie met a mate.
Nothing didn't go as planned for Thracie. Instead of letting it happen, Thracie went into an uncontrollable panic attack, it got to the point where she was hitting her partner, who had to hold her in place to try calm her down. Sadly, nothing helped and eventually Thracie fainted, for several days she remained bedridden.
When she woke, nothing abnormal was detected on her body. At least nothing out of the ordinary. And the healers were clear on one thing: Thracie would never be able to give birth, because her body was too fragile, and she could succumb to the dangers. This also created an uncontrollable fear of men. This news only added new weights to her shoulders, causing her to sink further into loneliness.
Years passed and Thracie is now 40 years old. Her body barely changed, but she took the time to learn new skills, discovering a little passion about cooking. With the few ingredients she could find around the jungle, she tried her best to please both her friend and mother. However, despite the efforts she made, she still felt out of place.
Ysera seeing Thracie feel out of place, decided to talk to the Matriarchs without telling her. She believed there was something they could do to help her, rather than let her waste away. However, the solution that came to their minds was simple, but difficult : Thracie's place wasn't among the tribe, but somewhere else in Eorzea. They would, however, leave the decision to her.
When the news came to Thracie, she had a hard time seeing the good in the decision to leave, but she only saw the bad sides of it. She would lose the comfort she had, and everything she knew. But most of all, she would not be able to see Ysera again.
Yet, after having a talk with her, Thracie made her decision. As fearful as she was, she realized that maybe she could find somewhere else that was better for her. The most heartbreaking part of the decision was having to leave Ysera. The night before Thracie decided to leave, her and Ysera became one, and Thracie found herself intimidated by the thought of this. This was also their first and last time doing this.
The next day she was on the road, when she left, an invisible male watched over her from the trees until the she reached the end of the jungle. From there, she was told to go to the nearest port to travel to the other side of the continent.
After a month of traveling, she eventually arrived at Gridania. She knew very little about the city, but the forest reminded her of the jungle, and that made her feel more at ease. She put her cooking skills to use and found a job at the Inn where she had also taken up residence for the time being.
Weeks passed and Thracie slowly got used to her new life, but she was still shy with the locals, and began to stutter whenever she wanted to speak to someone. Little by little, she shut herself in, until she met Darlia.
She was the first Viera she ever met outside of the Jungle. She came to the Inn time to time, and each time she came, Thracie found the courage to talk to her. Her and Darlia became friends over time, and it was easier to talk to Darlia, because she was also a Viera.
They became closer each time they saw each other, and the time they spent with one another also become longer, they eventually started seeing each other outside of work. Until one day, Darlia asked her out for a date. Thracie agreed to go, not really knowing what to expect. And then… She found herself at Darlia's apartment. She felt at ease here, and at place, something unexpected for the little Viera. From there began their relationship.
Darlia’s presence helped Thracie a lot. The more days that went by with Darlia by her side, the more self-confidence she gained. It even got to the point of inspiring her to follow the path of an Adventurer that Darlia had chosen, she then went to the Arcanist Guild of Limsa Lominsa.
As of recently, both her and Darlia live in Lavender Beds, in a small house. Thracie continues her training with Darlia’s help to this day, dreaming of the day of being able to go on a mission with her.
Psychology :
Thracie is very shy at first with a tendency to stutter. It subsides as she begins to get to know the other person better. And her gaze will rarely meet another’s, her hands will often intertwine as well.
She gets embarrassed easily and tends to not show off in groups, at least at first. As of recently, she has discovered a knack for leadership roles during her missions. She will often pay close attention to everyone’s needs and will not hesitate to do anything to help them.
Finally, when she is comfortable enough with someone, she will be more at ease with them, revealing the much more joyful side to her than what she shows in public.
